Earlier in the year, I had a group of ten people-3 men and 7 women-on my pub tour. One woman had on this beautiful corduroy white coat. As we were at Harry’s upstairs waiting for the rest of the group, I overheard her bragging to one of the other women on the tour how she had just bought it that day and had paid a very pretty penny for it. You could tell she was absolutely proud of this coat.
After I was done talking, I invited the ladies to go into the women’s restroom with the energy readers to see if they could contact the resident spirit, Catalina. Catalina de Porras is a very strong-willed, upper-class Spanish lady who lived in the home in the 1740s and then in the 1760s, and is the spirit I’ve had the most experiences with while I’ve done these tours. What was her bedroom is now the second floor ladies’ restroom, and sometimes she likes to hang out in there and make certain that the women are minding their manners while they’re in what she still sees as her home.
This night in particular, the lady with the white coat took the energy reader, and led the line of seven women running to the bathroom to investigate. As I was outside talking to the men, I heard screams coming from the bathroom, and one of the other women ran down the hall to the dining room where we were sitting, saying “Sarah, Sarah, quick, you need to come look at this!”
As I walked down the hall and into the bathroom, I saw the woman with the white coat standing in the middle of the room face turned toward the ground, arms crossed tightly around her chest. It was at that point that I noticed that her right arm was completely soaked in red wine to the point that there was no longer any white. It was also down the front and back of her jacket. The strangest thing was that nobody had a glass of wine on them.
I started asking the logical questions; did something spill in something, did you lean in something. Each time, all the woman would do was shake her head at the floor and reply ‘no’. Finally, just joking, I asked if she had said something. This time, she nodded her head and replied ‘yes’.
I waited for her to start smiling. When she didn’t, I realized she was serious and asked her what she said. She was so shaken, she refused to repeat it, lest something else happen to her. Her friend explained, saying “we were all walking around; everybody’s back to her, when all of us heard her say ‘it’s not that impressive in here’. When I turned around to say something, I noticed her arm and front were now covered in red wine. And she was in front of us while we were walking in here. All of us would have noticed if there was already something on her.”
At Harry’s, Catalina is known to demand good behavior. This lady obviously needed reminding of good house manners.

To tell you about the events on this tour that has happened would be far too long to report in one entry. So I’m going to relay them to you one event at a time and you will have to keep coming back to read more!!! Let me start with the hearse. Yes we have more than one. To ask me which is my favorite it’s too hard to choose. We are going to start with the younger of the two, our 1990 (Frankie)!! Doing what I do I come into contact with all sorts of things. Quite often I find myself in the company of psychics. There are things that you get told over and over again that you just don’t forget it. Then couple that with picture proof that was taken then immediately shown to you it gets your attention. This leads me to event #1. It was a very hot August evening, and I had an amazing couple who as luck would have it the wife happened to be psychic. She kept telling me that I had a man who rides with me in this hearse, and that he was attached to this hearse in some way. Well her husband was taking pictures everywhere that she would get an impression. As she was telling me about this man in his top hat who sits next to me on every tour her husband snapped yet another photo. In this photo, and this one only you can very clearly see a person although very transparent he had a top hat on and all. It was quite an amazing event. As the night went on the driver’s side passenger door kept trying to come open at every stop. Mind you this door was locked and I hadn’t gotten out of the vehicle yet. This was the only time this has ever happened. We have had plenty of people do full blown investigations and in one evp the lead investigator for the group asked if anyone was with us tonight. Very clearly you heard the name Frank. Very exciting things happen in the hearse. Things love to move when no one is in the hearse. People have been touched etc.!!! OK I can’t give everything away, stay tuned for my next blog about Emily, better yet come out and experience it for yourself.
Hope to see you in the hearse soon.

Hey everyone! My name is Jamie and I am the manager of GhoSt Augustine and have been a paranormal investigator for over 10 years. I founded Historic Haunts Investigations several years ago and also studied Parapsychology under Loyd Auerbach.
What I am entering in our paranormal journals in a post cognitive experience that I have had since working for Ghost Augustine and moving to St. Augustine, Florida. Post cognitive experiences are when someone sees something from the past. Which is not always a pleasant experience?
It happens every time I go out on our hearse tour. Since I moved here to St. Augustine my post cognitive abilities have been amplified due to the lay lines and high electromagnetic field here in this haunted city.
One of the stops on our nightly hearse ride is St. Augustine’s infamous Murder House. Back in 1974 a woman was brutally murdered on her front steps. I am not going to give you the details to the story because I want you to go on the Hearse Tour and experience it for yourself
) But, I will share my experience with you. Every time I go out there I see the woman being murdered!!! I literally see the man come from around the corner of the house with a machete and attack the woman. I have never had any interaction with this spirit therefore I think it is just a residual haunting. This is something that will replay itself over and over whether anyone is there to experience it or not. Last time I was out there the feeling and vision was stronger than ever before. Maybe the woman is hanging around in hopes that justice will be served and the man will be apprehended?!
I have never been inside the house and wonder if I was able to go in if the spirit would try to contact me. Is she trying to tell me something personally or is she just replaying that horrifying experience over and over again? We may never know.
If you have time while in St. Augustine make sure you check out our nightly Hearse Tours!! I’m not saying you will experience what I experience but it is a great way to see the other side of St. Augustine. As we say about our hearse rides, give it a try before you die!
By the way, did I mention our hearses are haunted? That’s another story………….

Being a Hearse Driver Tour Guide and taking people into the land of the paranormal has got to be by far one of the best jobs out there. There are many places that will take you on tours all over the world but where else can you go out with trained guides that can teach you how to conduct your own investigations. I have always had an interest in the paranormal, and meta physical world. For as long as I can remember it’s been part of my life. It’s amazing to be able to impart what I know and have experienced with others. As well as watching other people’s experience’s sometimes their first experience. To be part of that is an amazing thing. Whether you are a skeptic or a believer this tour has something for everyone. Young or old there are experiences to be had. Sometimes the most amazing things happen to the ones who are the most skeptical, and seemingly the least likely. I look forward to seeing you all in the hearse!!!!!
